We empower our learners with a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills and we’re now looking for a Data Technician & Data Analyst Apprenticeship Trainer to help shape the data experts of the future.

The Role…

Are you obsessed with data, dashboards, and storytelling through numbers? Do you get a buzz from mentoring learners and seeing lightbulb moments when tricky concepts finally click? If so, this is your moment.

As a Data Apprenticeship Trainer, you’ll train, mentor, and motivate learners on both the Level 3 Data Technician and Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship Standards. You’ll turn raw potential into real-world capability, teaching learners how to clean, analyse, visualise and present data in a way that influences decision making and drives business success.

But more than just teaching technical skills, you’ll be building confidence, sparking curiosity, and inspiring the next generation of data-driven digital leaders.

What you can expect in a Data Trainer role at althaus:

• Deliver engaging, industry relevant training across the L3 Data Technician and L4 Data Analyst standards – in person and virtually.

• Support apprentices all the way to EPA – making their data journey fun, challenging, and meaningful.

• Mentor apprentices through online and/or workplace visits, 1-to-1 coaching, and portfolio development.

• Bring complex data concepts to life (think data wrangling, Power BI, Python, SQL, storytelling with data, data ethics… the lot!)

• Own the apprentice journey, track their progress, provide pastoral support, and keep them on the path to success.

• Continuously improve your own delivery resources and stay updated with the latest data tools, trends, and frameworks.

• Embed core values such as Equality, Diversity, British Values, and Health & Safety into all programme delivery.

• Help shape our data curriculum and keep things fresh, relevant, and exciting.

What we’re looking for…

We’re on the hunt for someone who brings both data know-how and people power, a mix of technical brilliance and personal warmth.

Essentials:

• Strong knowledge of data analysis principles and tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, etc.)

• Experience delivering or mentoring on L3 Data Technician or L4 Data Analyst apprenticeships.

• Industry-recognised qualification in data, analytics or similar at Level 4 or above.

• An engaging and creative delivery style – you make data FUN!

• A coaching mindset: you’re patient, supportive, and love helping others grow.

• Ability to tailor your approach to learners of all ages and learning styles.

• Great communicator, clear, approachable and confident in person and online.

Desirables:

• Teaching or assessing qualifications (A1/TAQA/PTLLS or equivalent)

• Experience supporting learners through EPA and understanding the gateway process.

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Azure or Google Cloud, is a plus.

📍 This is a hybrid role – you’ll be based remotely with travel to Derby (East Midlands) at least twice per month.
