The Opportunity…

althaus digital are an Ofsted graded OUTSTANDING training provider who do things differently. Our aim is to unleash the digital leaders of tomorrow by equipping our learners with the powerful combination of technical skills and leadership abilities they need to maximise their growth and realise their potential.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate IT professional to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and training to our bootcamp learners and supporting them in achieving their qualifications and career goals. Please note this role includes working evening hours at least three days per week, from 1pm – 9pm.

 

The Role…

As an IT Skills Coach, you will need to have the ability to harness the knowledge the learner already possesses and forge this into skills they can apply within the workplace.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of assessing or mentoring in IT apprenticeships and/or skills bootcamps.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Skills Coach with a willingness to get the best out of people, who motivates and is passionate about the world of IT, you will have the ability to engage learners virtually from all age ranges. You will act as an inspirational role model for what they can become.

 

Responsibilities…

  • Delivering training for our digital IT skills bootcamp provision and potentially apprenticeship programmes.
  • Managing a case load of learners across a range of clients.
  • Offer Functional Skills support as necessary.
  • Take overall responsibility for each learner’s journey, their progression and provide pastoral care.
  • Improve and update teaching resources to meet developing need.
  • Adapt mentoring/coaching style to meet the broad range of learning needs, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Maintain appropriate apprentice progress tracking systems and follow procedures relating to quality, compliance, management, and assessment in line with the Standard and all other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professional knowledge to support in professional development.
  • To embed British Values, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety into all programme delivery.
  • Meet KPIs, including timely completions and effective project submissions, qualifications & Knowledge:

 

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Previous experience of assessing or mentoring in Apprenticeships/Bootcamps or Commercial training.
  • Previous experience of delivering training sessions.
  • Relevant IT/Software qualification) and relevant occupational competence.
  • Ability and proven experience of presenting technical training courses.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Highly motivated, persuasive, persistent and patient.
  • Professional, have a mature personality and be able to gain people’s confidence and put them to ease.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics.
  • Engaging Delivery Style.
  • Experience of supporting learners remotely via Zoom/Microsoft Teams.

 

Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Mentor/Assessing Qualification (A1/TAQA)
  • Previous experience of supporting apprentices through EPA including knowledge of the full gateway process.
  • Teaching Qualification/PTLLS.

What to expect during the interview process:

We want to ensure you’re the right fit for us, and that we’re the right fit for you! Our process is designed to be relaxed yet insightful:
Stage 1: A 30-minute Teams call with our Chief Operations Officer – this is all about fit and feel.
Stage 2: An in-person interview at our office with our Head of Delivery and panel. This stage may also include a fun and interactive interview activity to showcase your skills in action.
