As we continue our exciting growth journey, we’re looking for an experienced AI Trainer to design and build a Level 4 AI & Data Specialist apprenticeship programme from the ground up.

The Role…

We are seeking an experienced AI & Automation Trainer to design, develop, and support the delivery of a Level 4 AI & Data Specialist / AI & Automation Practitioner apprenticeship. The role will focus initially on curriculum build, EPA alignment, and programme setup, progressing into delivery and learner support as the programme goes live.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who combines strong AI and automation expertise with excellent training, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Content Development

  • Design and write a full apprenticeship curriculum aligned to the AI & Automation / AI & Data Specialist standard.

  • Finalise the Scheme of Work (SOW), session plans, learning materials, and assessments.

  • Develop practical, real-world projects that align with employer and organisational priorities.

  • Ensure all content reflects ethical, legal, and responsible AI principles.

EPA Alignment & Quality

  • Work closely with End-Point Assessment (EPA) organisations to ensure curriculum and projects meet assessment requirements.

  • Map curriculum content and projects to Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs).

  • Support EPA readiness through structured preparation activities and mock assessments.

Training & Delivery Support

  • Facilitate engaging virtual training sessions and workshops.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into accessible learning for non-technical and mixed-ability audiences.

  • Provide learner guidance, feedback, and portfolio support.

  • Support train-the-trainer activity and shadowing where required.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Engage with internal stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Skills teams) to ensure content relevance.

  • Present curriculum plans and progress updates to stakeholders.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the programme based on feedback and outcomes.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of AI, data, and automation concepts, including tools, models, and limitations.

  • Experience designing or delivering training, workshops, or apprenticeship programmes.

  • Ability to analyse workflows and identify opportunities for AI and automation.

  • Experience with low-code/no-code tools and automation platforms.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

  • Understanding of ethical, legal, and governance considerations in AI.

  • Experience working to structured standards, frameworks, or regulated learning outcomes.

Desirable

  • Previous experience delivering or supporting apprenticeships.

  • Experience working with EPA organisations.

  • Background in digital, data, or AI-focused education programmes.

  • Experience supporting portfolio development and assessment preparation.

Personal Attributes

  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a practical mindset.

  • Confident facilitator who can engage diverse learner groups.

  • Organised and able to manage work across multiple project phases.

  • Collaborative and comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Passionate about responsible and ethical AI adoption.

Time Commitment & Phases

  • January–March: 2 days per week focused on SOW finalisation, curriculum build, EPA alignment, and induction preparation.

  • From April: Delivery and learner support (TBC based on final delivery model).
