Job Description

About Business Development Manager (Skills Bootcamps)

The Opportunity…

At Althaus Digital, we’re not your average training provider. We’re an Ofsted Outstanding digital training company that does things differently. Our mission is simple: to unleash the digital leaders of tomorrow by equipping our learners with the perfect blend of technical skills and leadership confidence. When you join us, you become part of a team that transforms lives, supports growing businesses, and helps shape the future of the digital world.

We’re now looking for a motivated, people focused Business Development professional to join our Skills Development team, driving employer partnerships across the East and West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in opening up meaningful job opportunities for learners completing our bootcamp programmes and to make a real, lasting impact on their next career steps.

The Role…

This is an exciting, fast-paced role that will see you drive engagement across two key areas:

Learner Generation:
In the first phase, your focus will be on generating and converting leads for self-employed and employed learners across the East and West Midlands area, who are ready to upskill through our Digital Skills Bootcamps. You’ll work closely with our skills development, learner engagement and marketing teams to ensure a consistent stream of eligible leads, build local networks, and develop partnerships that help bring in high-quality candidates.

Employer Engagement:
As the bootcamp progresses, you’ll shift focus to building a network of employers across the same area – connecting them with our talented learners who are ready to enter employment. You’ll help employers understand the value of our programmes, create opportunities for interviews, and ultimately support successful employment outcomes.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a clear local engagement plan to generate leads for self-employed and employed bootcamp learners across the East and West Midlands.
  • Build relationships with community organisations, business networks, and self-employment support groups to drive learner referrals.
  • Qualify leads to ensure candidates meet eligibility criteria and are well-prepared for the self-employment pathway.
  • Work closely with marketing to shape campaigns and messaging that attract the right audience.
  • Track and report on engagement activity, conversion rates, and regional performance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with employers across digital, administration, business central, and creative industries.
  • Support employer partners to identify interview and placement opportunities for unemployed learners.
  • Represent althaus at local events, business forums, and networking sessions to champion our offer.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless learner and employer experience from enrolment to employment outcome.

We are seeking applicants who meet the following criteria:

We’re looking for someone who’s confident, proactive, and thrives on building relationships. You’ll be the kind of person who loves getting out there, talking to people, and finding opportunities that make a difference.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Experience in business development, recruitment, or learner engagement – ideally within skills, training, or employability.
  • A track record of generating leads, managing pipelines, or developing partnerships.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage people at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • A genuine passion for helping people progress through skills and employment.
  • Knowledge of the Greater London area and its business landscape (desirable).
