As a Business Development Manager, you will showcase your skills by identifying and developing strategic business relationships with a range of organisations, selling our portfolio of programmes and account managing your clients throughout their journey with Althaus. This role will predominantly cover the West Midlands region.

The Role

Passionate about apprenticeships, you will have an excellent, up-to-date knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy, experience of working with both small to medium sized enterprises. As an engaging and self-motivated individual, you will also be adept at developing long-term client relationships while also maintaining sufficiently high outbound sales activity to maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

 

What you can expect in a Business Development Manager role at althaus:

  • You’ll prospect and generate new business leads: Proactively identify and pursue potential apprenticeship opportunities with employers.
  • You’ll present and negotiate: Deliver persuasive presentations and negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with clients, ensuring successful conversion of leads into partnerships.
  • You’ll conduct high quality and productive digital training needs analysis across client base.
  • You’ll attend industry events, representing althaus at relevant conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand professional networks and promote our service.
  • You’ll collaborate with the talent team, working together on the recruitment and onboarding process of our learners.
  • You’ll advocate the althaus values: ‘taking ownership’, ‘unlocking potential’, ‘embracing the future’ and ‘bridging the digital divide’.

 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Business development role from industry, with an excellent understanding of the apprenticeships and funding utilisation process.
  • Proven successes of identifying, attracting and securing clients, successfully generating leads, closing deals, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Up to date knowledge on current apprenticeships government-funded training programs, and the apprenticeship levy system.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant sales and marketing tools.
  • High standards of personal integrity, professional conduct and customer service.
  • A full, clean drivers’ licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance. The role will include some regional travel as per the needs of our clients and our business.

This is a hybrid role and will require travel to Derby (East Midlands) for meetings at least 1 day per week, so applicants will ideally be Midlands based, or within a reasonable commutable distance of Derby.
