Job Description

About AI Trainer

The Role…

As an AI Trainer, you will lead the delivery of the Level 4 Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard, equipping learners with the technical knowledge, practical capability, and professional behaviours required to succeed in AI and automation roles.

You will design and deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions (virtual and face-to-face), facilitating workshops, guiding practical activities, and creating an interactive learning environment that brings AI concepts to life.

This role goes beyond presenting content — you will challenge learners to think critically, apply AI solutions in real workplace contexts, and develop the confidence to implement automation and AI responsibly and effectively.

Responsibilities…

  • Deliver engaging, structured training sessions across the Level 4 AI and Automation Practitioner programme (virtual and in person).

  • Facilitate workshops covering key topics such as:

    • AI fundamentals and machine learning principles

    • Automation tools and RPA platforms

    • Generative AI and prompt engineering

    • Data preparation and model inputs

    • AI solution design and deployment

    • Testing, optimisation, and continuous improvement

    • AI ethics, governance, bias, and responsible use

  • Translate complex AI concepts into practical, accessible learning experiences.

  • Guide learners through hands-on activities, case studies, and applied workplace projects.

  • Support learners in building their portfolio evidence and preparing for End Point Assessment (EPA).

  • Assess learner understanding through formative assessment, questioning, practical tasks, and feedback.

  • Provide constructive, developmental feedback to support both technical growth and professional behaviours.

  • Work collaboratively with mentors, employers, and the wider delivery team to ensure learners make strong progress.

  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and achievement.

  • Continuously review and enhance training materials to reflect emerging AI tools, technologies, and regulatory developments.

  • Champion Althaus’s core values: Taking Ownership, Bridging the Digital Divide, Embracing the Future, and Unlocking Potential.

What We’re Looking For…

A confident and forward-thinking AI professional who is passionate about developing others and can deliver engaging, technically robust training sessions.

You will combine strong subject matter expertise with the ability to facilitate learning in a way that is practical, interactive, and commercially relevant.

You understand that great training is not about slides — it’s about creating an environment where learners can experiment, question, apply, and grow.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven industry experience in AI, automation, machine learning, or digital transformation roles.

  • Practical experience with AI and automation tools (e.g., generative AI platforms, RPA tools, workflow automation systems, scripting or ML frameworks).

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Machine learning fundamentals

    • Automation architecture and design

    • Data preparation and quality

    • Responsible AI, ethics, and governance

    • Risk management in AI implementation

  • Experience delivering training, facilitating workshops, or teaching in a professional or apprenticeship setting.

  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to diverse learner groups.

  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

  • Strong organisational skills and experience managing learner progress within structured programmes.

Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge…

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS or equivalent).

  • Assessor qualification (e.g., CAVA) or experience supporting apprenticeship standards.

  • Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes and preparing learners for End Point Assessment.

  • Awareness of emerging AI regulatory frameworks and governance models.
