The Role…

We’re looking for a highly driven, quality-focused Skills Development Manager to take this exciting next step in their career; joining a talented and ambitious customer engagement team in a role with clear scope for progression into a leadership position.

 

What you can expect in a Skills Development Manager role at althaus:

The aim of this role is to establish and develop productive relationships with clients to support with their business growth strategies and digital learning & development needs across IT Solutions, Digital Marketing, Software Development and Cyber Security.

The main focus will be to promote althaus digital skills bootcamp programmes, securing attractive and sustainable employment opportunities for our learners. Once the contract has been secured, you will work with your clients to conduct a thorough digital training needs analysis across their organisation to provide impactful training opportunities to both existing staff and new recruits (sourced by our dedicated talent attraction team). Relationship building through exceptional customer service, market knowledge and an added value mindset is key.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Engage employers with the Skills Bootcamp offer across AI, Sustainability in Tech and Digital Marketing as subsidised CPD for staff
  • Engage self employed learners, or learners currently working in tech and looking to upskill across AI, Sustainability in Tech, Digital Marketing and Advanced Software Development
  • Engage employers with the Skills Bootcamp offer as a talent acquisition strategy for early careers tech in IT & Cyber, IT and Software and DM
  • Delivering exceptional levels of customer service to our clients
  • Achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Submission of accurate and timely sales reports/forecasts
  • Maintenance of clear and accurate customer engagement records on CRM
  • Undertake comprehensive IAG with employers, to ensure full understanding of all aspects of the Skills Bootcamps
  • Taking a ‘digital first’ approach whenever possible

We are seeking applicants who meet the following criteria:

Passionate about sales, you will have an excellent, up-to-date knowledge of the IT and digital sectors, and experience of working with both small to medium sized enterprises. As an engaging and self-motivated individual, you will also be adept at developing long-term client relationships while also maintaining sufficiently high outbound sales activity to maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

 

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the sector and the funding utilisation process
  • 2 years demonstrable experience of engaging with businesses
  • Proven business development ability and comfortably working in a target-driven environment
  • High standards of personal integrity, professional conduct and customer service
  • Knowledge of the adult skills, Skills Bootcamps, and/or Apprenticeships sector would be an advantage
  • A full, clean drivers’ licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance

This is a hybrid role and will require travel to Derby (East Midlands) for meetings 2 days per week, so applicants will ideally be Midlands based, or within a reasonable commutable distance of Derby.
